Episode 1: Sankofa Chicago explores the power of knowing our history to better understand the present. Through interviews with scholars, community leaders, and local residents, the film traces the Sankofa philosophy and its relevance today—particularly within Chicago’s Black community. It reveals how embracing cultural heritage can inspire social justice, personal growth, and collective healing in the face of systemic racism.
