About the docuseries
Sankofa Chicago is a three-part docuseries discussing the importance of Black history education for all, irrespective of race, for shaping a better future for our youth.

This documentary will enable students and young people to learn about their history, cultural values, and identity to ensure that our cultural values and stories are passed down from one generation to another.

By revisiting history and learning about our roots, we will be able to build a community where every member has a sense of belonging. This will also enable us to address common problems affecting the Black community in America and worldwide.

We recently completed production of part two of the series entitled: The Untold. My crew and I have worked tirelessly to schedule intriguing interviews. And we are raising funds to help with post-production costs, including editing, attorney fees, animation, royalties, rights and reproductions, marketing and promotions, accessibility (audio description and closed captioning), and film festival entry fees.

By fall 2022, we hope that we will be able to submit the film to lots of local and international film festivals. We aim to raise the sum of $10,000 to fund this project's expenses, and we are soliciting your help to enable us to achieve our goal.
